Lercanidipine hydrochloride

Indications & Dose:

Mild to moderate hypertensio


DOSE


Adults Initially 10mg as a single dose preferably in the morning. Increase if necessary after atleast 2 weeks to 20mg daily.


Children Not recommended

Contraindications:

Aerotic stenosis; pregnancy and breast-feeding; avoid within one month myocardial infarction, left ventricular dysfunction, uncontrolled heart failure.

Side Effects:

Flushing , peripheral oedema, palpitation, palpitation, tachycardia, headache, dizziness, asthenia, gastro-intestinal disturbance, hypotention, drowsiness, myalgia, polyuria, rash.

Cautions:

Hepatic and renal impairment, left ventricular dysfunction, Sick sinus syndrome (if pacemaker not fitted) avoid grapefruit (may affect metabolism).
