Indications & Dose:
Symptomatic relief of allergy such as hay fever, urticaria, food allergy, drug reactions Relief of itch associated with chickenpox
Inj. according to the severity of cases.
Adults
1/2, amp i/v (1ml/min) or i/m once or twice a day:
Tabs: : Initially 1/2 to 1tab 2-3 times daily, if necessary 1 tab 3 times daily from the second day of treatment onwards.
Syp:2-4 tsf 3 times daily.
Children
6 months-3 years, 0.4 -1ml im once or twice a day.
Over 4 years old, 0.8 2ml i/m once or twice a daily.
Syp:1-2 tsf 3 times daily
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity of pheniramine/prostatic hypertrophy and a tendency towards residual urine formation and pregnancy, treatment of patients with narrow angle glaucoma under ophthalmologists supervision only. Patients with alertness demanding activities because of possible drowsiness.
Side Effects:
Dryness of mouth, urine retention, increase in intraocular pressure, gastrointestinal upset, palpitation after high doses, hallucination, agitation and disorientation
Cautions:
Hepatic & renal dysfunction.
