TOLPERISONE HCL

Indications & Dose:

Muscle spasm associated with locomotor diseases, neurological disorders, rehabilitation, peripheral vascular disorders. 

Contraindications:

Eperisone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug. Side effects: ‘very rare’ excessive relaxation, stomachache, nausea, vertigo, anorexia, drowsiness, skin rashes, diarrhoea, vomiting, indigestion, GI disturbances, insomnia, headache, constipation et DOSE: Adults : Tabs: 150-450mg 3 times daily. Children: 3 months-6 years, 5-10mg/kg body weight/ day divided into 3 doses. 

Side Effects:

Muscular weakness, somnolence (rarely) in paediatrics

Cautions:

Eperisone should be administered with care in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any medication, or with disorders of liver function (it may aggravate hepatic dysfunction). Weakness, light-headedness, sleepiness or other symptoms may occur. In the event of such symptoms, the dosage should be reduced or treatment discontinued.
