CO-ASPIRIN

Indications & Dose:

For the treatment of mild to moderate pain, including headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throats and aches and pains. Symptomatic relief of rheumatic aches and pains. Symptomatic relief of influenza, feverishness and feverish colds.

FOR ORAL USE, AFTER DISSOLUTION IN WATER.

Adults

Take one or two tablets every 4 hours. Maximum six tablets in 24 hours.

Children Over 12 years

Take one or two tablets every 4 hours. Maximum six tablets in 24 hours.

Under 12 years: Not recommended except under medical supervision for use, for example, in Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Do not give to children under 12 years or to children suffering from chicken px or infuenza except on medical advice. 

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the other constituents. Should not be given to patients suffering form active peptic ulceration or haemophilia. Children under 12 years except on medical advice.

SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:

At the usual dosage, Aspirin’s side effects are gastric upset (intolerance) and gastric and duodenal ulcers while hepatotoxicity, asthma, rashes, and renal toxicity occur less frequently.

Upper gastrointestinal bleeding associated with aspirin use in usually related to erosive gastritis.

Dizziness, irritation of the gastric mucosa and resultant dyspepsia, haematemesis, and melaena may occur in some cases. Some persons especially asthmatics, exhibit notable sensitivity to aspirin which may provoke various hypersensitivity reactions which may include skin eruptions, paroxysmal bronchospasm and dyspnoea. It should be administered with caution to patients with impaired renal function, dyspepsia, anaemia and when patient is dehydrated.

Side effects of Paracetamol is usually mild, though haematological reactions including thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, pancytopenia, neutropenia, and agranulocytosis have been reported. Pancreatitis, skin rashes, and other allergic reactions occur occasionally.

May precipitate bronchospasm and induce attacks of asthma or hypersentivity in susceptible subjects. May also induce gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
