Indications & Dose:

Severe lower respiratory tract infection by RSV in children (if begun within 1st 3 days of infection), influenza A, influenza B, hepatitis C (combination with interferon alfa-26), Lasso fever, hantavirusassociated hemorrhagic fever



Adult


Chronic Hepatitis C: Adult: over 18 years body weight under 65kg 400mg twice daily, body weight 65-85kg 400mg in the Morning and 600mg in the Evening. Body Weight over 85mg/ kg 600mg twice daily.


Children: 15-20mg/kg Body weight in 3 divded doses for 5.7 days.

CNS: Headache, seizures (systemic administradon only)
CV: Cardiac arrest, hypotension
EENT: Conjunctivitis
GI: Anorexia, increased transaminases (systemic administration only), nausea
HEME: Anemia, reticulocytosis
RESP: Apnea, bacterial pneumonia, pneumothorax, worsening of respiratory status
SKIN: Rash
