Indications & Dose:
Osteoporosis in postmenopausal women (but not recommended)
Adult (female): 50 mg every 3 weeks.
Anemia of renal insufficiency
Adult: Usually: Nandrolone decanoate: 25-100mg i.m. every 3 weeks.
Children: 5-15mg every 3 weeks.
Contraindications:
Male patients with prostate or breast cancer, hypercalcemia in females with breast cancer, nephrosis, nephrotic phase of nephritis, enhancement of physical appearance or athletic performance

Antidiabetic agents: Enhanced hypoglycemic effects
Cyclosporine: Increased cyclosporine concentrations, potential for toxicity
HMG-CoA reductuse inhibitors (lovastatin, pravastatin): Myositis risk increased
Oral anticoagulants:Enhanced hypoprothrombinemic response
Tacrolimus: Increased tacrolimus concentrations, potential for toxicity

CNS: Choreiform movement, depression, excitation, habituation, insomnia
CV: Edema
EENT: Deepening of voice, hoarseness
GI: Cholestatic jaundice, diarrhea, hepatic necrosis, hepatocellular neoplasms, nausea, peliosis hepatis, vomiting
GU: Amenorrhea, clitoral hypertrophy, decreased breast size, decreased libido, testicular atrophy, vaginitis, virilization
METAB: Decreased glucose tolerance, decreased HDL cholesterol, increased LDL cholesterol, increased serum cholesterol, retention of sodium, chloride, water, potassium, phosphates, calcium
MS: Premature closure of epiphyses in children
SKIN: Acne, alopecia, flushing; hirsutism, rash, sweating
