Growth hormone deficiency

•  BY INJECTION

0.025-0.035 mg/kg body weight daily by SC or IM inj.

Turner syndrome

•  BY INJECTION

0.045-0.50 mg/kg body weight daily by SC Injection in evening.

Renal insufficiency

•  BY INJECTION

0.045-0.050 mg/kg body weight daily by SC Inj.

Prader-Willi syndrome

•  BY INJECTION

0.035 mg/kg daily or 1 mg/square meter daily by SC Injection, maximum 2.7 mg daily.

Adults: Initially 0.15-0.3 mg daily by SC Inj. Increase gradually according to individual requirements; maximum 1 mg daily.

Contraindications:

Pregnancy, lactation.

Hypersensitivity to benzyl alcohol, closed epiphyses, evidence of tumor activity and/or active neoplasia; sensitivity to m-cresol or glycerin (Humatrope)

Side Effects:

CNS: Headache, intracranial hypertension
HEME: Leukemia (uncertain relationship)
METAB: Glycosuria, hypercalciuria, hypothyroidism. ketosis, mild hyperglycemia
SKIN: Inflammation at inj site. pain, rash, urticaria
MISC: Antibodies to growth hormone
