Indications & Dose:
Adults
Female infertility:
50mg daily for 5 days, starting within about 5 days of onset of menstruation (preferably on 2nd day) or at any time (normally preceded by a progestogeninduced withdrawal bleed) if cycles have ceased, second course, of 100mg daily for 5 days may be given in absence of ovulation; most patients who are going to respond will do so at first course; 3 courses should constitute adequate therapeutic trial; long term cyclical therapy not recommended.
Male infertility:
25mg daily for 25 days followed by a rest period of 5 days, for 3 months.
Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications:
Hepatic disease, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, pregnancy.
Side Effects:
CNS: Dizziness, insomnia, lighthead edness, nervousness
CV: Vasomotor flushing
EENT: Blurred vision, diplopia, photophobia
GI: Abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, nausea, vomiting
GU: Abnormal uterine bleeding, breast pain, frequency, multiple ovulation, oliguria, ovarian enlargement, polyuria, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome
SKIN: Alopecia, dermatitis, rash, urticaria

Precautions:
Hypertension, depression, seizure disorder, diabetes mellitus, ovarian cyst, polycystic ovary syndrome, uterine fibroids
Breastfeeding &.old age: NA.

Gonadotropin Therapy: In combination in Gonadotropin therapy causes hyperstimulation of ovary
