Indications & Dose:

Female: Anovulatory infertility , unresponsive to clomophene. Multifollicular stimulation in superovulation for  IVF, GIFT, and ZIFT in conjuction with Lh for severe LH and FSH deficiency..
Male: In conjunction with HCG therapy to stimulate spermatogenesis in hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism.


DOSAGE:


Female  Adult: An ovulation; initially usually 75150 in daily by SC Inj. Monitor response. Super ovulation: Usually 150-225 in daily by SC inj. Starting on day 2 or 3 of cycle usually 2 weeks after starting GnRH agonist treatment. Monitor response. .


Male: 150 in three times a week by SC inj for a minimum of 4 months. Monitor semen samples after 4-6 months; treatment for 18 months or more may be necessary.

Contraindications:

Female: Pregnancy and lactation. Pituitary or hypothalamus tumors. Ovarian, uterine or mammary carcinoma. Ovarian cyst or enlargement not associated with PCOD.
Male:
Primary testicular insufficiency 

Side Effects:

Ovarian hyperstimulation. Multiple pregnancy. Allergic reactions.
Male: Gynaecomastia, acne, weight loss.

Female: Exclude anatomical abnormalities. Monitor ovarian size and oestrogenresponse to avoid hyperstimulation.
