Indications & Dose:

Treatment of female infertility in the following clinical situations: –Anovulation (including polycystic ovarian disease, PCOD) in women who have been unresponsive to treatment with clomiphene citrate. –Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation to induce the development of multiple follicles in medically assisted re-production programs (eg in vitro fertilization/embryo transfer [IVF/ET], gamete intrafallopian transfer [GIFT] and intracytoplasmic sperm injection [ICSI]).


DOSE


Adult An ovulation; initially usually 50i.u daily by s.c or i.m inj. Monitor response. Superovulation: Usually 100-225 i.u daily by s.c or i.m inj alone or in combination with a GnRH agonist 

Contraindications:

Tumors of ovary, breasts, uterus, pituitary or hypothalamus;


Pregnancy or lactation; undiagnosed vaginal bleeding; hypersensitivity to any of the substances in Puregon; primary ovarian failure; ovarian cysts or enlarged ovaries, not related to polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD); malformations of the sexual organs incompatible with pregnancy; fibroid  tumors of the uterus incompatible with pregnancy.
