Mecobalamin (Vitamin B12 Plain)

Indications & Dose:

Megaloblastic anemia due to vit B12 deficiency (inj only). Peripheral neuropathies. Megaloblastic anemia due to vit B12 deficiency (inj only).


Adults :


Caps: /Tabs: 1 tab/cap three times daily. Inj:


Peripheral neuropathies: 1 amp by i.m. or i.v. inj three times a week.


Megaloblastic anemia:  1 amp by i.m. or i.v. inj three times a week. After two months 1 amp in a single administration at 1 to 3 mont hs intervals for mainte-nance therapy. 

Contraindications:

Side Effects:

Hypersensitivity. anorexia, nausea, diarrhea, skin rash. Rarely during parenteral therapy headache, sweating, hot sensation.

Prolonged use is not recommended for patients whose occupa-tion requires handling of mercury or its compounds.
