Vitamin B-Complex

Indications & Dose:

Vitamin B complex deficiencies & prophylaxis. B12
(Cyanocoblamin):
Pernicious anaemia as Neuropathy B1
(Thiamine): Wet & Dry Beri Beri, werrick’s encephalopathy korsako, Psychosis. B2
(Riboflavins): Angulur stomatitis, Isolabial seborrhea, Serotaldermatitis, Glossitis, isoniazid causing peripheral neuropathy. Beriberi, neuralgias and neuritis of all types.
DOSE Adults : Initially Inj: 1 inj daily or on alternate days, by deep i.m.Can also be given by slow i.v, followup 2-3 inj weekly or allow orally.
Adults: Tabs: 3 tabs/Cap daily. Adults: Syp: 2-3 tsf daily.
Children: Syp: 1-3 tsf daily.
Infants :
Drops:
5-10 drops 1-3 times daily. 

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the component.

Side Effects:

Pruritis, urticaria, weakness, sweating, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, G. I. diseases, restlessness, tightness of throat, angioneurotic oedema, cyanosis pulmonary edema, Activation of peptic ulcer, jaundice, flushing, skin rash, dryness of skin, itching, tuingling hypotention, tran-sient headach, allergy.

Cautions:

In Gallbladder diseases, Peptic ulcer, Glaucoma, Elevated uric acid, Liver diseases.

B1: Enhance the effect of neuromuscular blocking agents.
B2: Propantheline  and anticholinergics may increase the amount of riboflavin absorption.
B6: Levodopa, isoniazid, penicillamine, phenobarbitol phenatoine.
B12: Neomycin, Colchicine, para-aminosoli-cylic acid, alcoholism, chloramphenicol methotraxate pyramethamine. May increase iron absorption decrease warfarin effects, excretion of acidic and basic drugs is effected.
