Indications & Dose:
Musculo-skeletal disorders, traumas, sports injuries, low backache. Tension, headache. Sprains and strains. Parkinsonism, including the drug induced.
Adults: Initially
50mg thrice daily increasing by 50mg every 2-3 days. Maint: usually 100-300mg daily. Max: 400mg daily.
40mg three times daily
Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications:
Prostate hypertrophy, myasthenia gravis, narrow angle glaucoma, tardive dyskinesia. Hypersensitivity.

Urinary retention, impaired hepatic or renal function. Tachycardia, GI obstruction. Caution while driving or operating machinery.
Pregnancy: Safety not established.
Breastfeeding: Use with caution.
Old age: Use with caution.
Interaction:
Drugs
Anticholinergics,MAOIs, and Anti-depressants: Effects of these agents potentiated.
Propoxyphene: Confusion, anxiety and tremors.
Chlorpromazine: Therapeutic effects of chlorpromazine may be decreased.
Haloperidol: Worsening of schizophrenic symptoms, decreased haloperidol levels and development of tardive dyskinesias.
Levodopa: Synergistic effect.
Barbiturates, steroids and phenylbutazone: Orphenadrine antagonises effects of these drugs.
