Indications & Dose:
Treatment inflammatory conditions of the anterior segment of the eye, e.g., acute and chronic anterior uveitis, iritis, external disease such as non-specific keratitis. Used post operatively to reduce inflammatory reactions. Ocular infections associated with inflammatory and/or allergic conditions of eye.
DOSE
Adults & Children
Severe or acute inflammation: 1-2 drops in the eye every 30-60 min. for 3-4 days until a satisfactory response. Then every 2-3 hours for 1-2 weeks. If favourable response is not achieved subconjunctival or systemic therapy should be instituted.or two hourly or 0.5cm oint two or three times daily and/or at night
Contraindications:
Viral, fungal, tuberculous or purulent infections, dendritic ulcer & glaucoma.
Side Effects:
Corneal thinning, cataract, rise in intra-ocular pressure, sensitisation and cross resistance to neomycin; avoid unnecessary use.
