Corticosteroid+Antibiotic+ Vasoconstrictor

Indications & Dose:

Infected ocular inflammation.

DOSE

Adults & Children

1-2 drops four to six time daily.

Contraindications:

 Viral, fungal, tuberculous of purulent infections. Glaucoma. Soft contact lenses. 

Side Effects:

Rise in intra-ocular pressure, corneal thinning, cataract, fungal infection

 Prolonged use in pregnancy or infants. 

Interaction:

Drugs
Chloramphenicol should not be administered simultaneously with bactericidal substances or with drugs which have an adverse effect on bone marrow function. Interactions known from systemic application of corticosteroids, although of minor importnace, have to be considered.
