Indications & Dose:

As maintenance solution for children with hyponatraemic and hypokalaemic dehydration due to severe diarrhoea etc. For adults whose oral intake of water and electrolytes is insufficient due to various conditions. As electrolyte infusion solution for infants, children and adults.
DOSAGE:
Adults: 500-1000 mL at the rate of 300-500 mmL/ Hr (about 75-125 drops per minute)

Renal failure due to renal diseases Cardiac failure. Reduced urinary output due to obstructive urinary tract diseases. Hypertonic dehydration. Sodium Chloride content of this solution is 9.0 gm/litre whereas, the daily requirement of NaCl for an adult is 3-6 gm. Therefore, care should be taken in those cases where salt intake is restricted as in oedema, hypertension etc.
