Clobetasol

Indications & Dose:

Short term treatment of moderate to severe stubborn and recalcitrant steroid responsive dermatoses e.g. psoriasis, eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis, contact dermatitis.


DOSE


Adults


Apply to affected area with gentle rubbing twice daily. Treatment beyond 2 weeks is not recommended. The total dosage should not exceed 50g per week because of the potential for the drug to suppress the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis.


Children


It is a very potent steroid and should be reserved for very r esistant steroid responsive dermatoses in children
