Indications & Dose:
Severe hypertension not responsive to other therapy, in conjunction with diuretic; topically to treat alopecia androgenetica (less effective in frontal hair loss), alopecia areata*
DOSE
Adult and Adolescents: Hair and scalp should be thoroughly dried prior to application. Apply 1ml to the affected areas of the scalp twice daily. Total dose should not exceed 2ml. Hands should be thoroughly washed afterwards. Initially continue for atleast 4 months.
Children: Not applicable

CV: Angina, CHF, edema, pericardial effusion, pericarditis, pulmonary edema, severe rebound hypertension, sodium and water retention, tachycardia, T wave changes (direction and magnitude, 60%)
GI: Nausea, vomiting
GU: Breast tenderness, gynecomastia
HEME: Decreased Hct (hemodilution), leukopenia, thrombocytopenia
SKIN: Hypertrichosis (80% of patients, resolves 1-6 months after discontinuation of drug), pruritus, rash, Stevens-Johnson syndrome
SKIN: Contact dermatitis, hypertrichosis; irritant
