Indications & Dose:
For the improvement of neurological deficits in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Parkinsonism and ataxia of spinocerebellar degeneration. Assessment of thyroid function and thyroid stimulating hormone reserve.
DOSAGE:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis:
ADULTS: 200-500mcg by IV infusion at 2 to 19mcg per minute. Assessment of thyroid function and thyroid stimulating hormone reserve:
ADULTS: IV inj 200mcg.
CHILDREN: 1mcg/kg.

Severe hypopituitarism, myocardial ischaemia, obstructive airway disease, pregnancy
Interaction:
Dopamine, bro-mocriptine, chlorpromazine, thiori-dazine, asprin, glucocorticosteroid, theophylline, lithium ranitidine, oestrogens
Warnings:
Adverse Effects:
After rapid IV administration, desire to micturate, flushing, dizziness, nausea, strange taste; transient increase in pulse rate and blood pressure; rarely bronchospasm.
