Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)

Indications & Dose:

INDICATIONS:


Active immunisation against measles, mumps and rubella.


DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:


A single 0.5 ml dose of the reconstituted vaccine subcutaneous injection/intramuscular injection 

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to neomycin or to any other component of the vaccine.A history of contact dermalitis to neomycin is not a contra-indication Iimpaired immune responses. These include patients with primary or secondary immunodeficiencies.


PREGNANCY: Should be avoided for three months after vaccination


 

Side Effects:

Local Redness, Rash, Fever, Local Pain,  Local Swelling, Parotid Swelling, Febrile convulsions, Nervousness, pharyin-gitis, upper respiratory tract infection, rhinitis, diarrhoea, bronchitis, vomiting, coughing (I viral infection (0.31 %) and otitis media (0 30%), Very rare allergic reactions, including anaphylactoid reactions, and thrombocytopenic
