| Management | Management: 1. Stop smoking. 2. Control hypgrtension, hyperlipidaemia or diabe-tes mellitus if present. 3. Tab. Aspirin 150-300mg/day. 4. Dipyridamole 100mg 3 times daily. 5. Anticoagulants may be used. 6. Carotid surgery- carries a high operative mortality. |

| Clinical Features | Clinical features: A. With Carotid and Cerebral arteries involvement: 1. Weakness of the hand and arm or face. 2. Speech difficulty (i.e disarthria, aphasia). 3. Hemiparesis of the face, arm, leg and foot. 4. Ipsila.teral blindness. B With Vertebrobasilar arterp involvement: 1. Dizziness, vertigo, ataxia, diplopia and dysarthria. 2. Drop attacks i.e falling without loss of consciousness. 3. Visual loss. |
