| Clinical Features | Clinical features: 1. Pain- acute pain in the lid margin 2. Sense of heaviness and heat in the lid margin 3. Swelling, redness and oedema of the lid 4. Marked tenderness 5. Chemosis of bulbar conjunctiva 6. Finally a white pus point becomes visible on the lid margin 7. Lymph node enlargement |
| Preventions | |
| Treatment | Treatment: 1. Hot compression 2-3 times daily. 2. If pain- tablet paracetamol 500mg may be given 3 times daily or as required. 2. An antibiotic ointment (bacitracin or erythromycin) may be applied to the eyelid every 3 hours during the acute stage. 3. When the pus points, the pus should be drained either by pulling out the affected eyelash or by a tiny horizontal incision. |
