| Introduction | It is a type of primary glaucoma without any obvious cause. Here the angle of the anterior chamber remains wide. |

| Etiology | |
| Clinical Features | Clinical features: 1. Age incidence: 50-60 years. 2. Mild headache and eyeache. 3. Gradual dimness of vision. 4. Visual field defect. 5. Cornea may be slightly hazy and the pupillary reaction becomes sluggish. 6. Rise of intra-ocular tension. 7. Cupping of the optic disc. |
| Preventions | |
| Treatment | Treatment: 1. Timolol initially 1 drop of 0.25% soln. twice daily & then changing to 0.5% soln. twice daily if required. 2. Miotic- pilocarpine nitrate 2%. 1 drop 4 times daily. 3. Carbonic anhydrase inhibitor e.g Acetazolamide 250mg twice daily orally. 4. If miotic prepn. fails, then operative treatment has to be done, e.g iridencleisis operation or Elliot’s sclero-corneal trephine operation; or trabeculec-tomy can be done |
