| Management | Management: 1. Animate foreign bodies can either be removed by Hartmann’s forceps or by syringing. Insects may be killed by spirit, ether or oily drops. 2. Inanimate non-vegetable foreign bodies are removed better by syringing or an aural foreign body hook. 3. Vegetable foreign bodies are removed by ring curette as majorities are hygroscopic. 4. It is better to use general anesthesia in case of children. 5. In case of impacted F.B. antibiotic is administered systemically to control infection & reduce oedema. Spirit drops help in drying the foreign body. |
