Indications & Dose:
Active immunisation against Haemophilus influenzae type b infections, which are one of the major causes of meningitis and other severe systemic infections in young children.
DOSE
Children
By s/c or i.m Inj. Primary vaccination: 2-6 months age, 3 injection 1-2 months apart; 6-12 months age, 2 injection, 1-2 months apart; 1-5 years, 1 injection. Booster 2-6 months age, 12 months after 3rd injection; 6-12 months age, 12 months after 2nd injection; above 1 year age, not required.
Administration:
The vaccine can be given concurrently with other paediatric vaccines like OPV, MMR etc. but at different sites. Recommended schedule of dosage is given in tabular form.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to constituents of the vaccine, including to diphtheria toxoid

Epinephrine (1:1000) should be available, caution should be exercised in patients with coagulation disorders, acute febrile illnesses and immunosuppressed patients where the vaccine may not be effective
