Indications & Dose:

Active immunization against hepatitis A.


DOSE


Adults 


(19 years onwards): A single dose of hepatitis A adult vaccine (1ml suspension containing not less than 1440 ELISA units of viral antigen) is used for primary immunization.


Children and adolescents


(from 1 year upto 18 years of age): A single dose of hepatitis A Junior vaccine (0.5ml suspension containing not less than 720 ELISA units of viral antigen) is used for primary immunization. In both a booster dose is recommended any time between 6-12 months after a single dose of hepatitis A adult or hepatitis A Junior vaccine to ensure long time protection from hepatitis A.


 Administration: By i.m. route only, in deltoid 

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any component in vaccine pregnancy , Children < 2 y.

Cautions:

use in: nursing mothers. Severe febrile illness.

Precautions:

Administer with caution to subjects with thrombocytopenia or bleeding disorders. Should be used in pregnancy only when clearly needed.
