Indications & Dose:
Treatment of benign gastric and duodenal ulceration
Adult: 40 mg once daily for 4–8 weeks, dose to be taken at night
Maintenance treatment of duodenal ulceration
Adult: 20 mg once daily, dose to be taken at night
Reflux oesophagitis
Adult: 20–40 mg twice daily for 6–12 weeks; maintenance 20 mg twice daily
Children: NOTE Treatment duration and dose should be individualized
Peptic Ulcer:
1-16 years oral 0.5mg/kg/day at bed time or divided twice daily (max; 40mg/day.) doses of up to 1mg/ kg/day have been used. IV 0.25mg/kg every 24 hour ( max dose; 40mg/day doses up to 0.5mg/kg have been used
GRED:
1less than 3 months oral 0.5mg/kg/day once daily . 3-5 months 0.5mg/kg twice daily. 1-6 year ; 1mg/ kg/day twice daily max; 40mg twice daily.
Heart Burn/Indigestion /Sour stomach:
Children more than 12 years and adults orally 10- 20mg every 12 hour taken 15-60 minutes before food. Neonates: more than 3 months iv 0.25-0.5mg/kg/ dose Q24 hr. Oral 0.5-1mg/kg/dose Q24 hr

Interaction:
Drugs
Cefpodoxime, cefuroxime, enoxacin, ketoconazole: Reduction in gastric acidity reduces absorption, decreased plasma levels, potential for therapeutic failure
Glipizide; glyburide; tolbutamide: Increased absorption of these drugs, potential for hypoglycemia
Nifedipine; nitrendipine; nisoldipine: Increased concentrations of these drugs
