Indications & Dose:
INDICATIONS: Prophylaxis and treatment of infection in burn wounds; as an adjunct to shortterm treatment of infection in leg ulcers and pressure sores; as an adjunct to prophylaxis of infection in skin graft donor sites and extensive abrasions; for conservative management of fingertip injuries.
DOSE
Adult: Apply in layers 3-5 mm thick, change dressing three times a week for ulcers and daily for burns
Children: Under 3 months not recommended
Contraindications:
Sensitivity to sulphonamides, not recommended for neonates & pregnancy.

Precautions:
Hepatic and renal impairment; G6PD deficiency, may in- activate enzymatic debriding agents therefore concomitant use may be inappropriate, for large amounts.
Breast-feeding: Use with caution. Avoid in neonates.
Old age: May be used.
Interaction:
Drugs
Same as sulphonamides. Topical proteolytic enzymes: Silver may inactivate such enzymes.
