Indications & Dose:
Replenishment of Extracellular Fluid (E.C.F.). Supply or replenishment of Chloride.
DOSAGE:
Adults: Usually 500-1000 mL at one time by intravenous drip infusion. The infusion rate 300-500 mL per hour (about 75-125 drops per minute) for adults.

Renal failure due to renal diseases Cardiac failure. Reduced urinary output due to obstructive urinary tract diseases. Hypertonic dehydration. NaCl content of Ringer’s Solution is 8.6 gms/litre, whereas the daily requirement of NaCl for an adults is 3-6 gm. Therefore care should be taken in those cases where salt intake is restricted as in oedema, hypertension etc
